Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.
Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as Qi — flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, your energy flow will re-balance. Acupuncture is used mainly to relieve discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions, including:
Chronic and acute pain
Headaches, including tension headaches and migraines
Osteoarthritis
Fibromyalgia
Menstrual cramps
Women and men's health
Respiratory disorders, such as allergic rhinitis
Gastrointestinal disorders
Anxiety / Depression / Stress
Chemotherapy-induced and postoperative nausea and vomiting
And more …
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease processes and focuses as much on the prevention of illness as on the treatment. Traditionally, herbs were classified with their Ying-Yang and meridian attributes to restore the functional balance of human body.
It’s not so surprising that around 35% of current medications were originated from natural products (mainly herbs). The use of herbal medicine to treat or prevent diseases has been getting more and more scientific rationales.
Traditional Herbal Medicine has been used to treat almost each condition. The following are some examples supported by additional modern scientific evidence:
Musculoskeletal:
Osteoporosis
OsteoarthritisNeurological / nervous system:
Depression
InsomniaGynecological:
Menopause associated symptoms
Menstrual painEndocrine:
Obesity
DiabetesSupportive cancer care
Chemotherapy induced diarrhea and peripheral neuropathy
Cancer survivorship
And more...
Electro Acupuncture
Like traditional acupuncture, electroacupuncture uses needles placed in the same spots. Then, a small electrode is attached to the needles. A small amount of electricity runs through the electrode and gives a slight vibration or soft hum during treatment.
The electrode gives off the effect of your acupuncturist activating the acupuncture point with their hands. This ensures you get the right amount of stimulation during your whole treatment.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
